Our block printed pieces are created using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Each design is hand-carved onto wooden blocks and stamped by artisans carefully, making every print a labour of love and dedication. We use natural dyes extracted from nature to create our pigments. They are bio-degradable and non-toxic.
The process is very different from new age block prints made with chemical inks. The use of natural dyes makes it slightly complicated comparatively as the process combines a detailed understanding of chemistry, weather and natural elements along with mindful and synchronized effort of craftsperson. Tiny imperfections are normal and are simply a testament to the handmade process.
